WELCOME TO ST. MARGARET’S BADMINTON CLUB
London’s Oldest Badminton Club
We are a friendly, social, and competitive badminton club across three venues in Balham and Tooting, South London. We have 14 Men’s, Ladies’, Mixed & Hybrid teams competing in the Surrey County League and the local Sutton & District League.
WHEN
We host 32 sessions per week for Doubles and Singles. We play every weeknight, and Saturday and Sunday mornings. Weekly coaching and a stringing service is available to our players. We use feathers and sessions are graded.
We’re a very fun club with socials and events throughout the year. We operate a Summer Singles Ladder, as well as a Padel section, a bookclub, and a regular running and cycling meet, St. Maggs Runs & Rides. There are plans to revive the club’s table tennis section in 2026.
WHERE
Our three venues are all a short walk from Tooting Bec and Balham tube and rail stations, each with ample free parking available, and safe places to park your bike.
Please be mindful that we are a nut-free environment.

Prospective new members are welcomed, but pre-booking is required. We cannot accommodate absolute beginners in club sessions, but our beginners’ coaching courses run throughout the year.
